My goal for this blog is to tangibly help others in my community find sources for real, unprocessed, GMO free food in North Fort Worth. I’m on a journey, like many of you, to choose the best food for my family, and I plan to be very honest in this space and say that it has been a lonely journey thus far! About six months ago I began making major changes in the food I purchase at the store and keep in my home. My friends and support system over the past six months are all virtual. Bloggers like Lisa Leake of 100daysofrealfood.com and Vani from foodbabe.com are lifesavers as I seek to understand the importance of being intentional about choosing the purest food for my family.
A few weeks ago I began to consider starting a facebook page and blog devoted to my own community, the place I live. I began dreaming of a real support system rather than a virtual one. People in my own community that are ahead of me in this journey. People who can share ideas with one another for meals, products, restaurants, farms, and places in Fort Worth and surrounding areas that are worth visiting and supporting because of their commitment to producing and serving real food. I’ve found that I can’t do this alone and I need help.
Today I told my husband I was thinking about starting this and he said “why wouldn’t you do this?”…I had no answer so here I am, throwing myself out there, hoping that I can find like minded people who can help me on my journey, and maybe others who can learn from my personal experiences. I am not perfect, and my biggest victory over the past two weeks has been successfully switching my three year old picky eater over to almond butter from peanut butter. I hope you’ll join me in my journey by following this blog and liking the Real Food of North Fort Worth on facebook!
